Destiny 2
The UI art for Destiny 2 by Bailey Kalesti.
DESTINY 2
While I was a visual designer at Bungie, I had the opportunity to work on a few big releases for Destiny 2 including: Beyond Light, Season of the Hunt, Season of the Chosen, and Season of the Splicer.
Beyond Light was the Year 4 expansion for Destiny 2, and with it came a wealth of new UI assets and icon needs. And every Destiny 2 update required our visual design team create hundreds upon hundreds of unique UI icons.
I had the pleasure of working on a team of outstanding visual designers during my time, including Elliott Gray, Signy Davis, Jessica Myers, Ari Bilow, Dustin Thaxton, and Audrey Twigg. We worked together to output a huge volume of art in a short time. Below are my contributions to these efforts. 😊

GILDED TITLES
Earning a title in Destiny 2 is no easy task, but my team and I had the opportunity to give players even more ways to show off their dedication by offering Gilded versions of earned titles. Gilding a title changes titles from purple to a golden color, and also shows how many times a player has gilded that title.
Below are the visual states, icons, and colors I came up with for this feature. Special thanks to Andrew Davis and Phil Etting for UI tech design, and Ari Bilow for the UX design. It was a fun feature to be part of!

ACTIVITY INTROS
My team and I were tasked with revamping the Activity Intro sequence. The goal was to provide an opportunity for players to view details about their teammates and to show off their identity with the other players before the match started. Ari Bilow handed Kurt and I a thorough UX design and let us run with it. This was a fun piece to spruce up and I had a blast collaborating with Kurt. He’s a great cinematic animator and super fun to work with! And it wouldn’t have been possible without Phil’s fabulous implementation. He helped the UI come to life in the engine. Thanks, Phil!❤️

Thank you to the entire Destiny UI team. I was honored to be one of you while I was at Bungie.
Y’all are champions in my book.
